GIS Man Development is in Hermitage, Pennsylvania and provides a broad spectrum of GIS and community development-related services. Sole Proprietor John D. Bralich is the owner of the firm.
John received his B.A. in Geography and M.A. in American Studies at Youngstown State University. During his 25-year career as a contractor and instructor at YSU, he provided technical assistance to local government and social service entities, provided GIS mapping and demographic analysis for numerous major projects, including the Youngstown 2010 Future Land Use Plan, development of the city of Youngstown’s rental registration program, neighborhood revitalization and watershed action plans, updating of the city of Youngstown’s code enforcement and demolitions process, and mass transportation projects throughout Ohio and Michigan. He co-authored and provided all GIS analysis for the Youngstown Redevelopment Zoning Code. He has conducted numerous property conditions surveys in the city of Youngstown and other legacy cities. He developed a plan to establish a wetland mitigation bank on the east side of the city of Youngstown and served as the YSU Research Team lead on a Byrne Criminal Justice Innovation Program planning grant, and an Innovations in Community Based Crime Reduction Implementation Grant, through the U.S. Department of Justice. Both projects were collaborations between Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation, Youngstown Police Department, and YSU, which aimed to reduce crime and improve neighborhoods in a targeted area on the south side of the city of Youngstown. He also completed Analyses of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice for Trumbull County and the city of Mentor, and ADA Transition Plans for Trumbull, Mahoning, and Portage Counties. In addition, he developed and maintains the Real Property Information System, an online interactive map that contains a comprehensive collection of real property data in Youngstown, Ohio. He also maintains the Youngstown Public Water Systems Lead Service Line map and associated data and provides infrastructure and utility mapping for the city of Youngstown and other legacy cities.
John is also a K-12 substitute teacher in the Hermitage School District in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. He spends most of his spare time adventuring with his wife, Ashley, and son, Xavier, and their Labradoodle, Mila. The cats, Colin and Kat, don't venture past the front door.
